essoc was born out of observation of active urban lifestyles on the streets of New York City.

We spent several years adapting to life in our new home, New York, a city where people routinely walk long distances. As we settled in, we noticed something else:

New Yorkers are stylish, and they move with ease.

Finding socks to support that lifestyle proved a challenge. We tried them all, but they were too tight, too loose, too visible, too slippery.

Eventually, we designed essoc, the sock we needed. Snug, dry, comfortable, and stylish.
